A day at Chichen Itza and a second to Isla Mujeres

Description

Arguably, you might not be able to experience more of the area at a better price than this! This two-day combination tour packages a historical sightseeing day at Chichen Itza followed by a catamaran excursion to Isla Mujeres.

Day 1 begins with an early start to visit the historical Mayan ruins at Chichen Itza. Though you might be a little slow to wake up for a 5:00 am start, you'll soon thank yourself when you are standing in the presence of one of the Seven Wonders of the World. We'll beat the heat of the day and manage to avoid the most popular times of day for tourists so that you can really soak in the wonder of the Mayan civilisation and these structures which date 1,500 years.

A Mexican buffet lunch is served with the option to purchase drinks, capping off an amazing morning before the approximate 2.5-hour transfer back to the Cancun area.

Get ready for Day 2 on the water! You'll board one of our catamarans for the 8-mile journey to stunning Isla Mujeres. Upon arrival to the beachside destination, provided snorkeling equipment offers you the opportunity to explore some amazing Caribbean reefs. Put your feet in the sand and enjoy the meal and open bar provided. Free time at Isla Mujeres offers fantastic shopping opportunities at the Isla's "Centro" or downtown market area.

All in all, this is one of the best price points and best-value tours we offer. Two full days of activity that encompass two distinctly different area attractions at a price that doesn't break the bank.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need to know about visiting Isla Mujeres?
The main thing to consider with an Isla Mujeres day tour is that it will be a long day. It's about an eight-mile boat ride from Cancun and then your tour will usually reserve several hours for experiencing the island; either by exploring & shopping, eating & drinking, snorkeling, or a combination of the above!
Where do we meet for this tour?
For the Isla Mujeres Day, pickup will be from your hotel. For Chichen Itza, there are several pick up locations available in close proximity to the Cancun strip and along the Riviera Maya. Feel free to contact any of our travel specialists for directions or information about which location is closest to you.
Why does this tour start so early?
From our experience, it pays to get an early start at the ruins. Not only will we beat the heat of the day, but we'll avoid the busiest times of the day at the archeological sites. This allow you to truly enjoy the rich history provided by your professional guide without feeling overwhelmed or rushed by large crowds.
Do we visit Isla Mujeres and Chichen Itza on the same day?
These are two separate full day tours booked as a single reservation to give you a big discount. Book for the first day you'd like to go to Chichen Itza and the following day will be to Isla Mujeres. Or contact us and we'll coordinate the best day for your trip out to Isla Mujeres.
Can I take pictures of the ruins?
Yes! By government order, be prepared to pay a fee for each photographic device (phones, GoPros, selfie sticks) that you want to bring into the site. This is usually about $2.50 USD per device.
